Verbeke spent thirty-four years at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he held the chair of Sales and Account Management from 1999 to 2020. He teaches the way senior people prefer to be taught: directly, with evidence, and without the reassurance that everything they are already doing is right.
He lives next to the resort. That is a practical detail rather than a romantic one: he knows the resort, the area and the city, and he is present for all three days rather than flown in for a single keynote.

The group is formed by personal selection. The programme director approaches candidates himself and decides when the retreat opens.
