Founding Edition Higuerón, Málaga

Winning and continuing to win

Three days in which sales strategy, competition and connection come together. Not a training course with an outing attached, but one shared experience that unfolds inside the programme and beyond it.

The question

Why do some professionals and organisations manage to win again and again, while others lose their lead?

At the SalesMBA Executive Retreat we explore that question through sales strategy, human behaviour, competition, knowledge, collaboration, physical performance and AI.

Not a traditional sales training. Three days in which thinking, doing, competing and reflecting flow into one another: in the training room, on court, at the table and on the move.

Preparation

The retreat begins before you arrive

Every participant brings their own commercial challenges and cases. We map them out beforehand, during the personal intake, and they become part of the discussions, exercises and applications during the retreat.

So you are not only there to listen to ideas.

You work on questions that matter in your own business.

The programme

From winning to continuing to win

Day 1 · Win

Building the Winning & Resilient Sales Organization

What happens when professionals have to perform under pressure? Competition, ambition, adaptive behaviour and Winning Conversations, then onto the court for padel and performance.

Day 2 · Capitalize

Discover the Hidden Competitive Assets

Which knowledge and resources do you already have, and why are you not yet turning them fully into customer value? Followed by the Málaga Experience, away from the formal setting.

Day 3 · Augment

The AI-Augmented Knowledge Broker

How AI extends the reach of the sales professional, and why human judgement stays at the core. The retreat ends with concrete choices for your own practice.

Higuerón is not the backdrop to the retreat. It is part of the programme.

A setting where top-level sport, competition, business, gastronomy, recovery and encounter come together: exactly what it takes to explore what winning and continuing to win really demand.

About Higuerón

Winning is a result. Continuing to win is a way of thinking and acting.

Willem J.M.I. Verbeke, Ph.D.

Programme Director

Willem J.M.I. Verbeke, Ph.D.

Award-winning sales professor

Willem Verbeke spent thirty-four years at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where from 1999 to 2020 he held the first chair of Sales and Account Management in the Netherlands. His research has won international recognition, including the Sheth Foundation Best Paper Award from the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, twice, and the AMA Sales SIG Award for Excellence in Research.

But Verbeke is no scholar watching commercial practice from a distance. He teaches with passion, challenges people and keeps pushing at the edges of his field. He was one of the pioneers in Europe who connected sales with neuroscience, and he now brings insights from endocrinology, epigenetics and artificial intelligence into commercial practice as well.

One question runs through all of his work:

Why do some professionals and teams manage to win, and to keep winning, while others lose their lead?

For Verbeke there is no simple answer and no fixed roadmap. It is about staying sharp, seeing patterns sooner, connecting knowledge, continually renewing yourself and getting people moving around a shared ambition. He translates complex scientific insight into recognisable commercial situations and into concrete ways to look differently, decide more sharply and perform better.

Verbeke lives next to Higuerón Resort and trains there every day. At the retreat he is not the professor who is flown in for a lecture and then leaves. He lives the three days together with the participants: in the sessions, in sport, at the table and on the move.

Because winning is not learned in a training room alone.

The group rate applies to a joint registration and cannot be combined with the launch price. Every participant completes the personal intake beforehand.

Flights and your own transfer to Higuerón on arrival are not included.

All prices are exclusive of any VAT that may be due.

Deliberately small

There are only twelve places. Not to create exclusivity as a marketing device, but because the programme depends on it.

We want to get to know each other, discuss cases, play sport together, experience competition, share meals and keep the conversation going outside the formal sessions.

Twelve participants is therefore not a sales limit. It is part of the design.
